Ephraim Radner is Professor Emeritus of Historical Theology at Wycliffe College at the University of Toronto, and a priest in the Episcopal Church. He received his doctorate from Yale Divinity School in systematic theology.

Ephraim grew up in Berkeley, California, and studied music and art history before going to seminary. Following ordination and work in Burundi (East Africa), he served congregations in Brooklyn, Cleveland, New Haven, Stamford, and Pueblo. He has taught at Yale University and Iliff Seminary, as well as at the Episcopal seminary in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

He has written and edited several books, including The End of the Church: A Pneumatology of Christian Division in the West (about how the Holy Spirit works in church division), Spirit and Nature: The Saint-Médard Miracles in 18th-Century Jansenism (about how the Holy Spirit is an intrinsically disputed actor), Hope Among the Fragments: The Broken Church and Its Engagement of Scripture (how we live in a divided Church), and a theological commentary on Leviticus.

He lives in Toronto with his wife, the Rev. Annette Brownlee, and they have two adult children who both reside in Colorado.

Tish Harrison Warren is a writer and an Anglican priest. She is the author of several books, including Liturgy of the Ordinary: Sacred Practices in Everyday Life, which won Christianity Today's 2018 Book of the Year, and Prayer in the Night: For Those Who Work, or Watch, or Weep, which won Christianity Today's 2022 Book of the Year and the 2022 ECPA Christian Book of the Year.

She formerly wrote a weekly newsletter for The New York Times, which focused on faith in public discourse and private life. She was also a columnist for Christianity Today and her articles and essays have appeared in Comment Magazine, The Point Magazine, Religion News Service and elsewhere. She is a senior fellow with The Trinity Forum.

Tish has worked in various churches and Christian non-profits for over two decades, serving as a parish priest, a campus minister, and with those affected by poverty and addiction. She now serves as Artist-in-Residence at Immanuel Anglican Church, and lives in Austin, TX, with her husband and three children.

Dr. Lauren Whitnah has served as Dean of Nashotah House since August 2024. A medieval historian, Whitnah previously served on the teaching faculty of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and as research manager and associate director of the university’s Global Computing Lab.

Whitnah holds a PhD in Medieval Studies and Master of Medieval Studies, both from the University of Notre Dame; a Master of Studies in History from the University of Oxford; and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Gordon College.

As senior lecturer at UT, she taught more than 400 students annually in interdisciplinary classes exploring the history, politics, culture, art, religion, economics, and literature of Western Europe from ca. 300 to ca.1500. During the decade she taught Medieval and Renaissance studies at the university, the number of students pursuing majors and minors in that discipline tripled. Whitnah also served on the university’s Faculty Senate and as co-chair of the Faculty Senate Teaching and Learning Committee.

Whitnah has received numerous awards as an educator, including the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching at UT and the Award for Teaching Excellence from the Southeastern Medieval Association.

Whitnah’s academic focus centers on devotion to saints and understandings of sacred place in the High Middle Ages, particularly in northern England and southern Scotland. She has published and presented on topics including liturgical developments in veneration in the twelfth century, Aelred of Rievaulx and the saints of Hexham, and women at the shrine of St Cuthbert in Durham. She has taught at Episcopal and Anglican churches on a wide range of topics, including Benedictine monasticism, the life and work of Hildegard of Bingen, and medieval devotional art.

Professor of Christian Theology

Simeon Zahl is Professor of Christian Theology in the Faculty of Divinity at the University of Cambridge in Cambridge, England. He is an historical and constructive theologian whose research interests span the period from 1500 to the present.

Professor Zahl received his first degree in German History and Literature from Harvard, and his doctorate in Theology from Cambridge. Following his doctorate, he held a post-doc in Cambridge followed by a research fellowship at St John’s College, Oxford. Prior to his return to Cambridge he was Assistant Professor of Systematic Theology at the University of Nottingham.

Professor Zahl's recent research has focused on the doctrine of the Holy Spirit, the place of experience and emotion in Christian religious life, and the theological legacy of the Protestant Reformation. Further research interests include Augustine, nineteenth-century theology, and the contributions to theology of affect theory and cognitive science. He is currently working on a new book on the theology of sin and its contemporary relevance.
